Atthe 30-day Countdown Press Conference for Harbin 2025,held on 7 January, Mr Li Guang, Director of Sports Department and Deputy Chief Directorof Sport Operations Centre of Harbin Asian Winter GamesOrganising Committee (HAWGOC), provided updates on competitionorganisation. He emphasized that HAWGOC is sparing no effortsin competitionorganisationto present a spectacular winter sports galafor spectatorsacross Asia and the world.
According to Mr Li, in accordancewith the OCA Constitution, the Sport Entryrocess consists of three phases: Entry by Sport, Entry by Number, and Entry by Name. To date, a total of 1,275 athletes from 34 NOCacross Asia have completed their Sport Entries, including 755 male and 520 female athletes. Among them, 847 (513 male, 334 female)will compete in ice events while428 (242 male, 186 female) in snow events. Harbin 2025is expectedto hostthe largest number of articipating NOCsand athletes in the history of the Asian Winter Games, reflectingthe growing ethusiasm for winter sports across Asia and the attention garnered by Harbin 2025. Notably, the delegations from Cambodia and Saudi Arabia are set tomake their Games debut, further expanding the “Circle of Friends”of the Asian Winter Games.
To create unforgettable moments for medallists, Harbin 2025 will feature a dedicated medal plaza in the Yabuli Cluster for snow events. Victory Ceremonies will be held there intensively and efficiently, adding solemnity and enthusiasm to these moments of glory. For ice events, Victory Ceremonies will be held at five competition venues, including Harbin Ice Hockey Arena and Heilongjiang Ice Events Training Centre, ensuring that each venue is filled with an atmosphere of triumph and joy.Meanwhile, preparations for Sort Presentation are also rogressing rapidly. Scriptwriting, song selection, and process design have been completed and drills have started. The Sort Presentation team will endeavour to create a passionate, thrilling, and engaging atmosphere to the competition venues, immersing spectators in the unique charm of winter sports.
