Harbin Sport University Ice Skating Rink

Built in August 2006 and put into use on December 31, 2007, Harbin Sport University Ice Skating Rink covers 5,400 square meters withconstruction area of 12,060 square meters. At the time of its construction, it was one of the only three skating rinks in the world with upper and lower floors. The rink integrates office, teaching, training and competition. The total height of the building is 19.6 meters, the span is 60 meters wide and 90 meters long. The main structure adopts a frame structure and is divided into upper and lower floors. The upper ice rink covers an area of 1,768 square meters and is 15 meters high, meeting international competition standards; the lower ice rink covers an area of 1,580 square meters and is 7.6 meters high, which can be converted into four standard curling venues. Part of it is four-story, with international competition standard rooms such as the lounge for athletes, coaches and referees, equipment room, technical statistics room, press release center, drug testing room, medical room, physical training center, reporter work area and competition technical room. There are 2,200 spectator seats on the east and west sides.

To complete the tasks of teaching, training and competition, the hall is equipped with three ice pouring vehicles, two ice rink trimming machines and two curling special ice trimming machines, all of which meet the requirements of one use and one reserve, and all are imported mainstream advanced equipment and are operated by special personnel. The ice hockey project is benchmarked against the Olympic standards, and the ice surface repair work during the inter-game rest can be completed within 8 minutes.

It can not only host international and domestic ice sports competitions and long-term training, but also various large-scale cultural performances and program recordings. Harbin Sport University Ice Skating Rink is the only sports venue among provincial universities that has undertaken domestic and international ice sports events. It has hosted the 24th World University Winter Games Ice Hockey Competition, Asian Ice Hockey League, VHL Super Hockey League, National Men's Ice Hockey Championship, National Men's Ice Hockey League, Asian Women's Ice Hockey Competition, National University Curling Championship, Provincial Games Ice Hockey Competition, China-Central and Eastern European University Ice and Snow Carnival, China-Russia University Ice and Snow Carnival, Heilongjiang TV "Dancing with Ice" program recording and many other international and domestic events and activities.

In terms of professional and technical talent training, 3 people entered the ice service support team of the women's ice hockey project of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics; 2 ice makers participated in the 2023 Shenzhen Women's Ice Hockey World Championship.

In order to meet the relevant needs of the 9th Asian Winter Games in 2025, we will upgrade and renovate the lighting, sound, sports technology, refrigeration equipment, ventilation and air-conditioning system and functional rooms of the university ice skating rink. Among them, the optimization of functional rooms such as the lounges for athletes and technical officials, the upgrading of sports technology facilities, etc. are all designed and constructed in accordance with the standards for hosting international events, and the functional zoning adjustment meets the service requirements of various customer groups. After the renovation, the ice hockey stadium's lighting system, sound reinforcement system, ice-making system, information multimedia system and other functional facilities will better meet the standards and requirements for hosting the Asian Winter Games intercontinental events.
