Xu Qin inspects the preparatory work for the 9th Asian Winter Games

On September 19th, Xu Qin, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and head of the Heilongjiang Provincial Winter Asian Games Organizing Committee, visited Harbin to inspect and oversee the preparations for the 9th Asian Winter Games. He emphasized the importance of fully implementing President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on accelerating the construction of a strong sports nation, as well as the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. In accordance with the principles of "simplicity, safety, and excitement," we must race against time to advance the preparatory work and ensure the complete success of the Games.

Xu Qin visited the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center to inspect the construction progress of the opening and closing ceremony venues, the athlete's village, the media center, and other facilities. He emphasized the need to adhere to the strictest requirements and highest standards in construction organization and project acceptance, making every effort to ensure quality, safety, and progress. He also stressed the importance of tracking and monitoring environmental indicators to guarantee construction safety, venue safety, environmental safety, and fire safety. Xu Qin called for a green and frugal Games, emphasizing the full utilization of existing facilities, the optimization and improvement of the athlete's village service functions, attention to detail, and a pursuit of excellence to create a home away from home for athletes. He also urged that the needs of the media and press be fully considered, with strengthened communication and power guarantees to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the media center.

At the provincial ice sports training center, Xu Qin inspected the renovation progress of the speed skating rink, the comprehensive gymnasium, and the figure skating training hall. He emphasized the need to implement operational requirements for venues, accelerate the debugging of venue facilities, organize test competitions, and improve operational efficiency and guarantee levels to create the best conditions for athletes to compete at a high level. Xu Qin required the sports department to organize Heilongjiang athletes for scientific training and preparation to achieve excellent results in the Asian Winter Games, bringing glory to the motherland and honor to their hometown.

Xu Qin pointed out that preparations for the 9th Asian Winter Games have entered a critical phase. Harbin City and relevant provincial departments must elevate their political stance, deeply study and implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, and fully understand the great significance and important missions of successfully hosting the Games. They must shoulder their political responsibilities and make every effort to host this major national and international event. We must adhere to the bottom line of safety, integrating the concept of safety and safety measures into all aspects and the entire process of construction and the Games. We need to refine safety management for venue renovation and construction, improve work plans and emergency response plans for large-scale events, event organization, venue safety, and extreme weather responses, continuously identify and rectify risks and hidden dangers, and conduct targeted emergency drills to ensure absolute safety and foolproof operations for the Games. We must optimize services and guarantees. By fully considering the overlapping impacts of festivals, tourism, and the Games, we need to comprehensively coordinate transportation organization, medical services, power supply, food safety, and volunteer services. We should comprehensively enhance the city's functions, carrying capacity, and urban environment, and promote the improvement of urban operations and service guarantees to provide strong support for the successful hosting of the Games. We must strengthen organizational leadership. Under the leadership of the Organizing Committee, the Asian Winter Games Executive Committee must strengthen overall coordination, dynamically sort out tasks, ensure the operation of venues, strictly supervise and inspect, and report and communicate on major issues in a timely manner. Harbin must shoulder its responsibilities as the host city, actively coordinate with all parties, mobilize advantageous resources, and forcefully promote implementation. Member units of the provincial Asian Winter Games preparatory leading group must unite and cooperate, overcome difficulties, and work together to create a successful, complete, and wonderful sports event.
