On January 7, Xu Qin, secretary of the CPC Committee of Heilongjiang Province,visited Yabuli Ski Resort to inspect the preparation work for the 9th Asian Winter Games, including venues renovation, ice and snow tourism development and production safety. He emphasized the need to implement instructions of President Xi Jinping during his inspection of Heilongjiang Province, to prepare for the Asian Winter Games with high standards, high quality and efficiency, and to develop the ice and snow economy and cultural tourism, so as to promote the development of the entire industry chain of ice and snow, to make Heilongjiang a best practice for “ice and snow bring silver and gold”, and to help the province pursue high-quality development and sustainable revitalization.

Xu Qin came to Yabuli Yawangsi Hotel to learn more about the renovation of the Athletes Village and Technical Officials Village of the Asian Winter Games. He pointed out that the venues and infrastructure for competition showed the image of China and Heilongjiang province, and they should be built under the principle of "simple, safe and amazing" based on local conditions. We might as well consider their function, environmental protection, and the needs of the competitors. To achieve this goal, it was necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the personnel structure before transforming hardware facilities to meet the needs of different groups and improve event support capabilities in an all-round way. Xu Qin also came to the athletes preparing rooms and emphasized that we must race against time to advance relevant work, and comply with strict rules on quality, environmental protection, and safety, so that we could build the athletes' village into a model project and provide safe and comfortable living environment for all participants.

As the birthplace of competitive snow sports in China, the Yabuli Sports Training Base has successfully hosted various events such as the Third Asian Winter Games and the 24th World Winter Games. Xu Qin listened to the report on the operation of the venues and training bases in the snow competition area, and emphasized that based on the existing facilities and conditions, we must adhere to principles of green and economical when hosting of the competition, coordinate the needs of the competition and post-game use, and open more venues, facilities, and training tracks to tourists, with an aim to develop four-season tourism models and build Yabuli into a well-known ice and snow sports training center, a high-quality ice and snow tourism destination, and an internet-famous site for ice and snow sports fans.

Xu Qin came to the Yabuli Ice and Snow Culture Exhibition Hall, which is being upgraded, and stressed that the exhibition hall should fully reflect the important instructions of President Xi Jinping to vigorously develop special cultural tourism, not only to establish an international perspective, but also to reflect the characteristics of Heilongjiang.

For example, the exhibition hall should take the initiative to communicate with the Asian Winter Games Council in the layout, and fully display the development history of ice and snow sports in the world, so that the exhibition hall can become an important window to show the unique charm of ice and snow culture, and the business card to show the development of ice and snow sports in Heilongjiang.

At present, ice and snow tourism in Heilongjiang continues to heat up, and the ski resort of Sunshine Resort is very popular. Xu Qin took the cable car to the top of the Sanguokui mountain, and learned about the operation of Sunshine Resort and the planning and construction of Yabuli Airport in detail. He stressed that the Sunshine Resort should build a higher level of snow and ice facilities in accordance with international standards and provide better service guarantee for tourists. The preliminary work of the construction of Yabuli Airport, such as site selection, research, approval, etc., should also be accelerated to increase efficiency, and strive to start as soon as possible. In the snow hall, Xu Qin also talked with tourists from Guangdong, Zhejiang and other places, asked about the experience and opinions, and wished them a happy time in Heilongjiang.

Xu Qin stressed that the Harbin Municipal Government and relevant departments should take the preparation of the Asian Winter Games as a major political task, gather wisdom and strength from all fields, and do a good job in all aspects of work to ensure the success of the games. For example, all departments should firmly carry out the "100-day action" of winter ice and snow tourism, comprehensively optimize the supply of ice and snow tourism products and service, make every effort to do a good job during the winter vacation and Spring Festival, and lead the high-quality development of the province's tourism industry. In the preparation, all departments should also continue to carry out risk investigation and rectification, to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the overall stability of society.
