To accelerate construction of the 25th Harbin Ice and Snow World, a total of 100,000 cubic meters of ice harvested from the Songhua River last year will soon be used for the project's initial construction phase.

According to tradition, Harbin Ice and Snow World selects and stores a batch of high-quality ice blocks during the ice harvesting season from the previous year.

The 100,000 cu/m of natural ice preserved for a whole year has set a new world record for the largest ice reserve in terms of volume.

The ice is stored using a combination of traditional ice storage and modern multilayer insulation technology, a result of technological innovation.

By utilizing "black technology" for ice storage, Harbin Ice and Snow World Co is able to provide suitable storage conditions for the ice blocks – low temperature, light avoidance, insulation, and sealing – ensuring the ice does not melt even when temperatures exceed 30 degrees during the peak summer season.

To ensure the quality of the preserved ice meets the construction requirements, many details need to be taken care of during storage, such as the stacking method of ice blocks, the maintenance of moistureproof covering materials at its base, and regular inspections.

Currently, Harbin Ice and Snow World is busily preparing for its grand opening. It aims to unveil its magnificent ice and snow kingdom to the world by mid-December, ahead of schedule compared to previous years.
